Cosumnes CSD Welcomes Human Resources Director

Marisa Guerrero

Elk Grove, CA – The District has concluded an extensive recruitment process and is pleased to present Marisa Guerrero as the new Director of Human Resources. Guerrero’s experience spans 25 years across all phases and disciplines of human resources, including: employee and labor relations, benefit administration, compensation, safety and security, and workforce management.

Guerrero most recently served as Interim Director of Human Resources for the City of Stockton, where she provided strategic guidance and direction to personnel for a myriad of legal and regulatory issues, hearings and investigations, policies and practices, and contract negotiations.  Prior to that, her focus was labor and employee relations as Supervising Human Resources Analyst.

“Marisa is a highly-experienced professional whose leadership history is guided by impeccable integrity and solution-focused collaboration,” said Nitish Sharma, Cosumnes CSD’s Chief Administrative Officer. “Marisa’s successful track record in labor relations speaks to her skills in building strong business partnerships in the interest of balancing the needs of all stakeholders.”

She will join the Senior Leadership Team to help advance the District’s Strategic Plan in support of a high-quality workforce, with an emphasis on professionalism, diversity, equity and inclusion, succession planning, competency and organizational growth.  She will work closely with Department leads to develop and implement plans to strengthen organizational performance and enhance equity in all business operations. We congratulate Marisa and look forward to her success.

Director Guerrero’s employment begins June 16.
