In September 2019, the lakes in the Camden Passage neighborhood of Elk Grove tested positive for blue-green algae. The harmful algae bloom has subsided and the signs around the lakes have been removed.

In September 2019, the lakes in the Camden Passage neighborhood of Elk Grove tested positive for cyanobacteria, commonly known as “blue-green algae.” Warning signs were posted around the lake and water tests were conducted weekly. The harmful algae bloom has subsided and the signs around the lakes have been removed. The Cosumnes CSD would like to remind visitors that swimming, boating and allowing dogs in the Camden lakes is never permitted per Cosumnes CSD park rules.
