Jr. Guards Edition
Camp Jr. Guard is a fun, interactive, engaging summer camp that builds confidence, fitness, and self-esteem. For ages 11-15, each week participants enjoy games, art projects, swimming and learning skills to become a lifeguard.
Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday 9 am to 4 pm (excluding holidays and staff service days)
Campers will get the opportunity to receive certifications in a variety of different American Red Cross skills based on each week’s theme. Skills include: First Aid, Adult and Child CPR, and Basic Water Rescue. Sessions are led by Cosumnes CSD Aquatic staff and is located at the Elk Grove Aquatics Center.
Participants need to bring the following: change of clothes, snack, lunch, sunscreen, swimsuit, towel, and water.
Each participant will be tested on the first day for the following prerequisites: swim 100 yards front crawl, retrieve a 10-pound brick from 7-feet of water, and tread water for one minute.
Camp Splash is fun for ages 6-11, designed for participants to enjoy nature and discover the water. Focus will be on outdoor recreational activities while incorporating weekly themes.
Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday, 9 am to 4 pm (excluding holidays and staff service days)
Extended Care Hours: Monday- Friday, 7am to 9am and 4pm to 6pm (available at Teen Center and Wackford locations only for additional fee)
Each week’s session is based on a theme and includes daily activities, such as: swim lessons, art projects, nature & physical activities, open recreation play and swim time. Each session is led by Cosumnes CSD’s Aquatic staff and is located at the Wackford Aquatic Complex.
Participants must have completed Seahorse (Level 2) swim lesson. Participants need to bring the following: change of clothes, lunch, sunscreen, swimsuit, towel, and water.
