Although we are not currently hiring, be sure to be prepared when we do!  We partner with the Firefighter Candidate Testing Center (FCTC) - all applicants must have successfully passed the Entry-Level Firefighter Written Examination and the Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT) administered by FCTC.

Firefighter Internship Program

The Firefighter Internship Program is a collaborative effort between the Cosumnes Fire Department and the Cosumnes River College's (CRC) Co-op Work Experience Education Program. CRC and Cosumnes Fire Department have been partners since 1987.

Program Length

The program is a 2-year commitment and is designed for fire technology students who desire a real-world opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom to an internship site.

Course Benefits

It also includes participation in a required weekly Fire Technology Work Experience class (FT498). This course provides an opportunity for students to learn more about their chosen career, develop confidence, and obtain valuable information on professional development.
