My child's birthday is after the December 2 cut off date. Can my child start once he/she has turned the appropriate age?

To coordinate with the Elk Grove Unified School Districts calendar, children must be the appropriate age (3 for the 3 year old class or 4 for the 4 year old class) on December 2 or before to start when the preschool year begins in August. If birthdays are after December 2, the child must wait until the following school year.

When can I register my child for preschool?

Preschool registration for Returning Students and Siblings takes place in January. Siblings of a former/current preschool student living in the 95624, 95757, or 95758 zip codes do have priority, provided that a sibling priority form has been completed and submitted by the due date along with all fees. Preschool registration for new students begins in March. (Exact dates can be found in the Winter/Spring Activity Guide, published in December.) You may register online, walk-in, mail or fax in a registration form.

How do I get a sibling priority form?

Sibling priority forms are available in the main Parks and Recreation office, the Laguna Town Hall, and the Wackford Community and Aquatic Complex in the early part of January. Parents of current students may obtain a form from their classroom teacher. Due dates will be listed on the sibling registration form, usually mid-January.

My child is in the Toddler Time class. Does he/she get priority for preschool?

Siblings of current or former preschool students living in Elk Grove receive priority for preschool. Toddler Time students do not receive priority.

My child is in the 3 year old program. Will he/she get priority for the 4 year old program?

All children currently enrolled in the Tues./Thurs. 3 year old program are guaranteed a spot the following year at the same location and time period on Mon./Wed./Fri. Be advised that preschool teachers sometimes move; the same teacher cannot be guaranteed.

Where do I make my preschool tuition payments?

After the initial payment is made, tuition is due by the 1st of each month to any of our 3 registration offices. You may elect to have automatic payments deducted from your credit card. If you are interested, please request a form, fill it out, and return it to the Main Office, the Laguna Town Hall, or the Wackford Community and Aquatics Complex. If you wish to occasionally pay by credit card, you may call the main office at (916) 405-5300, Laguna Town Hall at (916) 684-7550, or the Wackford Community and Aquatic Complex at (916) 405-5600 with your credit card account information.

Does my child have to be toilet trained for preschool/Toddler Time?

Yes, your child does need to be completely toilet trained for preschool. Our preschool classrooms are not equipped with changing areas. Your child does not need to be toilet trained for Toddler Time and our staff will assist with toilet training if you wish.

If I need to drop my child from preschool, will I be refunded my last month tuition payment, which is paid prior to the start of school?

Yes, provided we receive notice in writing at least 2 weeks prior to your next tuition due date. A cancellation form may be obtained by your classroom teacher or at one of our offices.
