Pool rules

Winter Swim Clinic Ages 5-18
Continue your stroke development, technique and conditioning while you work on drills and turn work with quality coaches that promote a positive swimming experience. Practices will have emphasis on increased yardage during practice and will continue the philosophy of competitive recreation swimming.

Prerequisites: Swim 25 yards unassisted without stopping; tested on the first day

American Red Cross Lifeguard TrainingAges 15+
Learn surveillance skills, rescue skills, first aid training, and professional rescuer CPR and lifeguard responsibilities. Successful completion will certify you in Lifeguard Training and First Aid for three years, CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED for one year, and Emergency Oxygen for one year.
Prerequisites: Pass pre-course swim test

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training - Review Age 15+
This class will recertify you as an American Red Cross Lifeguard by refreshing your water rescue skills,
CPR, rescue breathing, AED, and first aid. Successful completion will recertify you in Lifeguard Training and First Aid for three years, and CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED for one year.
Prerequisites: Have a current ARC Lifeguard certification

CPR - Professional Rescuer for Lifeguards Recertification Age 15+
Review the skills needed to help respond to breathing, cardiac, and obstructed airway emergencies as developed by the American Red Cross program. This includes rescue breathing, two-rescuer training, CPR, and AED. Successful completion will recertify you in CPR Professional Rescuer for Lifeguards for one year.
Prerequisites: Current CPR-Professional Rescuer card

Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Age 16+
Advanced training for individuals to teach American Red Cross learn-to-swim courses. Future instructors will learn how to use course materials, develop lesson plans, conduct classes, and evaluate students.
Prerequisites: Show level IV swimming ability, pass pre-course water skills test

Basic Water Rescue Age 12+
This American Red Cross course provides parents, foster care and day care workers, teachers, and pool owners the information and skills necessary to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies. This course does not provide all information or skill work to be certified as a lifeguard or CPR training. Bring a swim suit, sunscreen and towel.

If you are interested in receiving this training, the CSD Aquatic Staff will work with groups of 4 or more to organize a training catered specifically to your group. Classes will be offered at the Wackford Aquatic Complex by trained American Red Cross Instructors at a cost of $50/student. Pee-Wee Splash'n Play Age 6 & under
The Playground Pool is open for children to enjoy the water and splash around with an in-water playground structure and spray features keeping you cool and having fun. The pool has a maximum water depth of 2 feet and adult supervision is required at all times. The CSD will staff a lifeguard on duty. Payment is taken at the Wackford Aquatic Complex during scheduled hours.

Fall Swim Clinic Ages 5-18
Come experience recreational competitive swimming with quality coaches that will assist you with stroke development, technique, drills, and conditioning while promoting an enjoyable swimming atmosphere. This is not a learn-to-swim program but builds upon the philosophies of competitive recreation swimming. Open for existing and new swimmers interested in trying the swim team experience.
