Welcome to the GIANT Pumpkin Festival site
There’s no place like Elk Grove the first weekend in October. CSD organizers are planning to whisk guests away to the mystical land of Oz for the 19th Annual Elk Grove GIANT Pumpkin Festival, October 5-6, from 10 am to 5 pm at Elk Grove Regional Park. Staff and participating businesses have begun planning for a weekend filled with pumpkins and scarecrows and fun…oh my!
They Could Squish a Witch…GIANT Pumpkins!
Witches beware! Weighing in at nearly one ton, some of the state’s biggest pumpkins grace the festival scales on Saturday morning.
Those aren’t flying monkeys…It’s the Pumpkin Regatta!
A race between pumpkin boats across Strauss Lake. The paddles will be poised for the 7th annual showdown on Sunday at Noon.
Munchkinland Offers Fun for Kids
Magical activities abound at the Festival. Kids can explore two children’s areas with carnival games, a pumpkin patch, inflatable attractions, hay maze and more.
Scarecrows Over the Rainbow
Fashion an entry honoring your favorite OZ inhabitants in the festival’s scarecrow contest and you could earn more than just sparkly slippers. Cost to participate is $10 per entry, but awards for first, second, and third place offer hundreds to the lucky winners. Look for entry form under 2013 Contest Forms.
It Takes Courage, Smarts, and Heart to Produce a Great Festival
Festival sponsors, vendors and volunteers help make the Festival a magical experience every year.
