Park Site B - Sheldon Place This 1.6 acre park is located on Toad Hollow and Hawley Way in the Elk Grove/West Vineyard area. The CSD thanks the residents who attended the design workshops. Please view the Conceptual Master Plan below. Property ownners in the Elk Grove West Vineyard Park Assessment District voted down the proposed assessment increase by a 2-to-1 margin, with 66% opposed and 34% in support. The proposed assessment was $89 per each single family equivalency unit, which would have generated $544,000 for L&L Zone 3 – Elk Grove West Vineyard. To balance the FY 2009-2010 budget, reductions are necessary. Although construction funding is available to build Sheldon Place Park, no maintenance funding is available; therefore, construction of the park will be delayed indefinitely.

Derr-Okamoto Community Park (formerly Fieldstone) This 21-acre park is located at Mainline Drive and Ridgerock Way in East Elk Grove. The CSD is currently developing phase one of this project, which is 12 acres. Two workshops were held and community input was taken to create the conceptual master plan. The master plan was approved by the CSD Board of Directors on June 3, 2009. This project remains on schedule and is now in Step 5, Design Development and Construction Documents, of the park planning process. Zone 11, the East Elk Grove Landscape and Lighting Benefit Zone, has sufficient funds to maintain this park when complete.
Jordan Family Park (formerly Vista Creek) This 1.7-acre park site is located at Jordan Ranch Rd. and Didorwill Ct. in Eastern Elk Grove. Two workshops were held and community input was taken to create the design. The CSD Planning Division prepared the conceptual plan based on citizen input and CSD Board direction and presented it to the community on September 25, 2008.
CSD Planning division staff received subsequent comments from the public suggesting the inclusion of a basketball court. Staff then prepared plan options 2A and 2B for discussion and consideration at the CSD Board meeting on November 19, 2008. Several residents attended the meeting and spoke both for and against the inclusion of a basketball court. Ultimately, the CSD Board of Directors unanimously approved Plan Option #1. This project is now in Step 7, Bid and Award of Contract, of the park planning process. Via a ballot measure, the residents of the Vista Creek Subdivision established the Vista Creek Park Assessment District, a Subzone within Zone 3 (Elk Grove West Vineyard Landscape and Lighting Benefit Zone) in March 2009. This Assessment District will provide adequate funds for park maintenance when the park is complete.
