Are you looking for the perfect community service project or in need of community service credits? The Cosumnes CSD Parks and Recreation Department offers a variety of opportunities for volunteers that encourage public participation in supporting services, events and programs. Listed below are the available volunteer opportunities.

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities

Build Bike Park Features
Location: Elk Grove Bike Park
Description: Help build jumps and work on other park features. Get dirty with manual labor! Individuals and groups invited.
Appropriate for: Teens/community service opportunity.
Volunteers Requested: Open
Dates: Mondays to Thursdays, June through September

Just Serve Helping Hands
Description: Spring cleanup event with hundreds of volunteers. Signups begin February 2016.
Appropriate for: Active adults, service groups, families and teens/community service opportunity
Elk Grove Community Garden
Location: Elk Grove Community Garden – A private non-profit venture
Description: The CSD does not operate the garden, but we encourage people with a “green thumb” to help the garden grow!
Appropriate for: All ages
Volunteers Requested: Open

Partners for Parks
Description: As a partner, we will work together to keep our parks and communities safe and looking great. Partners for Parks volunteers monitor their park's conditions and report damages or other issues to CSD. Partners typically visit their park on a regular basis and spend a few hours a month committed to monitoring their park. If you would like to contribute to the continued care of a park in your neighborhood, please call the Park Operations hotline at (916) 405-5688 and become a partner today!
