PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

The Parks and Recreation Department enriches the daily lives of community members by creating fun and celebration, providing lifelong learning opportunities, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and building community pride through a high quality park system.

The Parks & Recreation Department offers a wide variety of recreation activities that enrich the quality of life such as, special events that foster family unity; preschool, after school recreation and teen programs that foster personal development; special interest classes that inspire, rejuvenate and educate participants; and sports and aquatics programs that help participants achieve physical and emotional health. Our parks, trail system and community centers provide settings for physical activities, play, and relaxation.

The Parks and Recreation Department Administrator, Bob Roessler, oversees a staff of 78 that manages 80 parks, 18 miles of off-street trails, two community centers, four recreation centers, and two aquatics complexes.
