Since 1994, giant pumpkin farmers from all over California and beyond have loaded their enormous orange gourds into trucks and trailers and headed to Elk Grove's Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off. The growers hope for the top prize of $7 per pound - and perhaps a world record - as their giant pumpkins hit the scale.
Rob Globus of Walnut Grove, Calif. set the Elk Grove Giant Pumpkin Festival record in 2014 with his 1,928-pound pumpkin.
Beni Meiers' (Switzerland) pumpkin weighed in at a whopping 2,323 pounds to break the Guinness World Record. It was authenticated by the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth (GPC) in Ludwigsburg, Germany on October 12, 2014.
Although the pumpkin is the star of the show, each year we also weigh and measure a variety of produce. If you are a produce grower, enter your prize produce for a chance to win big!
