American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor

Program Information
An advanced training for individuals to teach American Red Cross learn-to-swim courses or for those looking for more knowledge and skill work to provide excellent in-water instruction. Future instructors will learn how to use course materials, develop lesson plans, conduct classes, and evaluate students progress.

Prerequisites
  • 1 minute of treading water
  • 15 yards of butterfly
  • Float on back in deep water
  • Show level IV swimming ability consisting of 25 yards of:
    • Backstroke
    • Breaststroke
    • Elementary backstroke
    • Freestyle
    • Side stroke
