Two Elk Grove playgrounds to be renovated and improved
On December 16th the CSD Board approved the award of a construction contract to renovate and improve both Case and Colton Parks in the Laguna area of Elk Grove. Both playgrounds were built in 1991 and were due for equipment replacement. In addition, the playgrounds will be enlarged to provide separate play areas for both 2-5 year old and 5-12 year old children. Other improvements will include new benches, picnic tables and ADA accessibility. A new shade shelter will be built at Colton Park.
Work will begin the week of January 20th and will continue through spring. Both playgrounds are scheduled to be open for use in early summer, weather permitting.
The project is funded with Landscape and Lighting Assessment Funds budgeted for playground renovations.
