Now Accepting Farmers' Market Vendors
The CSD is now accepting vendor applications for our 2010 Farmers' Markets from May 12 – August 25, 2010. Make the market your Wednesday night destination all summer long to shop, dine, and play. Buy fresh, California-grown produce in Elk Grove's certified farmers' market. Each week offers the freshest fruits and vegetables, free children's activities, craft vendors, and a variety of dining options. Each week features a free, fun activity for the kids. Girl's Night Out
The CSD is now accepting vendor applications for our 2010 Girl's Night event on March 19, 2010. This popular event offers Mothers, Daughters, Grandmothers and Girlfriends of all ages the opportunity to put on their party clothes and enjoy a magical evening of girly fun. Registration for this event begins on December 15, 2009.
Help for the Holidays
This year was another successful one for the News 10 Coats for Kids program. The CSD Wackford Community and Aquatics Complex collected 140 coats to donate to families in need this winter season. Ten members of the CSD’s Teen Leadership Committee helped the Salvation Army in sorting coats at Cal Expo where the coats were distributed on December 30.
Win a New Car!
The Cosumnes Legacy Foundation is holding a raffle for a new Nissan Cube. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the foundation. Only 250 tickets will be sold, and the drawing will be held on February 14, 2010. For more information, please visit the Cosumnes Legacy Foundation web site.
GIANT Pumpkin Regatta
If you think you've seen it all, then take a look at this video of the Giant Pumpkin Regatta. Huge pumpkins from the recent CSD Giant Pumpkin Festival contest were hollowed out, made into boats and raced across the lake in Elk Grove Regional Park by brave skippers. The Elk Grove Citizen newspaper caught it all on video, which you can see on YouTube via this link.
CSD Snapshot: District Dedicates 83rd Park
The Cosumnes Community Services District dedicated its 83rd park, this one in honor of the Wright Family. The CSD hosted a celebration in honor of Jim and Elaine Wright for their dedication to Elk Grove and the many accomplishments they have made in the community.

Sacramento Bee Visits CSD’s Golf Course
Golf writer “discovers” and critiques the Emerald Lakes Golf Course, operated by the Cosumnes Community Services District. He says the 9-hole course, along Highway 99, offers “quality greens and practice amenities, and a fair test” at bargain prices. Read the story.
